Theme: Selkie – Skin, Sea & Sovereignty

Across Celtic lands, stories are told of the Selkies: seal folk who shed their skins beneath the moonlight and step onto the shore as women. In many tales, their sealskins are stolen, preventing them from returning to the sea. They build lives on land, raise families and fulfil their duties, yet their hearts remain tethered to the wild waters from which they came. When they finally reclaim their skin, they return to the ocean and to themselves.

In this Sacred Kernow circle, we will explore the mythology and symbolism of the Selkie as a powerful reflection of women's lives. Together we will consider the parts of ourselves we have hidden away, the wildness we have been taught to abandon, and the longing that calls us home to our truest nature. Through meditation, storytelling, sharing and ritual, we will journey with the Selkie and ask what it might mean to reclaim our own skin, our sovereignty and our belonging.

Women’s Circles are intentional, powerful gatherings where we can build community, listen openly, use our voices, be heard and be seen. Circles are places where we dismantle hierarchy and competition and instead practice self-focus, community care and sacred activism.

My prayer is that Sacred Kernow Circles foster a deep sense of belonging in everyone who attends - a space where you never have to try to fit in, where you belong to yourself first, where you can speak your truth and tell your story, where you can embrace vulnerability as connection and never feel any pressure of expectation - only the invitation to come as you are and leave as more of who you are.

The circles are for all who feel the call to deepen your relationship of belonging to yourself, the land you live on, your lineage and this beautiful community.
