Each class I teach has the following core components and a unique theme:

  • I prepare for each class by setting sacred space before the participants arrive.

  • When the class begins, the theme is introduced, and everyone is invited to pull an oracle card for guidance and connection to intuition.

  • We begin with a grounding/breathing exercise to integrate mind, body, and spirit into the present moment and then start moving by connecting breath to movement and setting an intention to initiate a co-creative relationship with the divine.

CIRCLING, HEART + HIP OPENING

  • We then circle through each part of the body to release tension or rigidity, and begin to shift the focus from how it looks to how it feels.

  • We move into a heart opening sequence to connect to the the rhythm of the music and the rhythm of your own heart, and begin the longest journey we ever take - six inches from the head to the heart.

  • We spiral down deeper into our hips through sensual movement to experience feminine, sensual movement, inviting us to do what feels good, true and authentic in our bodies as we let our hips lead us.

YOGA AS PRAYER, SHADOW + SHAKE

  • We then dance our yoga as prayer to access the gifts of embodied wisdom and experiencing movement as a way of bringing our awareness of mind, body, spirit, and energetics into alignment.

  • Moving to the shadow dance to honour the fullness of our lived experience of the them and an opportunity to shine a light on some of the more uncommon and uncomfortable feelings that are in us, waiting to be acknowledged and remembered.

  • And then we shake each part of the body to intentionally release what is safe to let go of that no longer serves us and return to our true essence as wise, wild and free.

FREE DANCE + COMMUNITY CONNECTION

  • We include a choreographed dance to create more mind/body connection and to have fun!

  • The movement culminates in free dance to move into our full authentic creative expression and feel our spirit/soul embodied and dancing.

  • The class begins to slow down through sharing with another participant via community connection to use language to anchor any healing or soul moments and also be a witness to another woman as she shares.

  • We end with stretching and relaxation to integrate all the benefits of class.
